Wirefly offers EVO reservations to its Facebook fans

It looks like Wirefly just got a bunch of EVOs in, and if you're a Wirefly Facebook fan (or choose to become one), you have first dibs.

The gang over at Wirefly has a pretty sweet deal for you if you've been trying without any success to pick up Sprint's HTC EVO 4G. It looks like Wirefly just got a bunch of EVOs in, and if you're a Wirefly Facebook fan (or choose to become one), you have first dibs.

"If you've been trying to get your hands on the HTC EVO 4G for weeks now without any luck, your Facebook account may be your ticket into this still exclusive superphone club.

As you likely know all too well, the EVO has been pretty hard to come by - both online and in stores. Here at Wirefly, we've been shipping out EVOs the moment we get them into our distribution center. Today we received a cache of EVOs, and instead of inviting the masses to snap them up in matter of minutes, we're offering our loyal Facebook fans the opportunity to secure an EVO at a special Wirefly price.

To take advantage of this exclusive Wirefly offer, you must "like" Wirefly on Facebook."

"Here's how it works:

• Sometime tomorrow, Wirefly will announce the launch of the HTC EVO 4G sale on Facebook.
• Wirefly will publish a link to purchase the Evo on the "Friends Only" tab of its Facebook page.
• Non-fans will not will be able view or access the link.
• Those not familiar with Facebook: To become a 'fan' of Wirefly, go to www.Facebook.com/Wirefly and click on the 'Like' button at the top of the page.
Reminder: The EVO will not be available on Wirefly.com. To access this limited-time offer, you must "Like" Wirefly's Facebook page"

How does the Motorola DROID 2 compare to the DROID X?

Two Smartphones. Similar but also very different.

Several of our readers have asked us how the new Motorola DROID 2 compares to the recently released DROID X. Of course, the most obvious (and probably biggest) difference between the DROID 2 and DROID X is the difference in display size. The DROID X has a large 4.3 inch display, while the DROID 2 has a substantially smaller (but still nicely sized) 3.7 inch display.

Despite a number of differences beyond display size that certainly define each phone -- think QWERTY keyboard and camera -- the DROID 2 and DROID X are also pretty similar in a good number of ways. How similar? Well, check out this comprehensive DROID 2 vs. DROID X comparison chart.

AT&T Smartphone Battle: BlackBerry Torch vs.

If you're looking for a smartphone on the AT&T network, you may very well be trying to choose between the Torch, the BlackBerry Bold 9700, Apple iPhone 4, and the Android Powered Samsung Captivate.

The next generation of BlackBerrys has debuted on AT&T, and with an entirely new form factor, wholly revamped operating system, and upgraded hardware, the BlackBerry Torch is a formidable competitor against AT&T's impressive smartphone lineup.

The BlackBerry Torch 9800 is the first BlackBerry with a full capacitive touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard similar to that of the Bold series of BlackBerrys that slides from the bottom of the device. The Torch's specs include a 3.2 inch display, 5-megapixel camera, 512MB of RAM and a 624 MHz processor.

If you're looking for a smartphone on the AT&T network, you may very well be trying to choose between the Torch, the BlackBerry Bold 9700, Apple iPhone 4, and the Android Powered Samsung Captivate.
